Temaricious meets Pompom Quarterly

Very excited to share this news that TEMARICIOUS is featured in the newest issue of POMPOM QUARTERLY magazine! 

Just two days before the workshop in London in September, 2014, I was warmly welcomed by Pompom quarterly team in their office in North East London. Their cosy office was not only filled with colourful wool but also with colourful dream and creativity. The wonderful woolly works and the team made me more fan and I wished to work with them in the future. 

Pompom quarterly is a knitting and craft magazine established by two young and cool ladies, Lydia and Meghan. You will find lots of amazing pictures and creative knitting patterns there.

One of our dreams came true to meet people whoever we respect and get inspired!
And then we got a lovely offer from POMPOM magazine to have our introduction pages. Such an honour!

We shoot lots of images for this issue and chose the spindle pattern for main readers of POMPOM, knitters. This pattern is very simple and easy to make your own designs by combining colours and layers. 

We will show you some photos of behind scenes here. As you can tell, yes, we had too much fun with temari flower hat :-) 

Temari, threads, photos, instructions how to make temari ball ... we made all by our hands! Hope you enjoy and try to make one temari, tiny world of yourself, that is our small wish from Tokyo.

Kichijyoji Morning Market 吉祥寺ハモニカ横丁朝市

Happy to inform you that Temaricious will be on Kichijyoji Morning Market (Kichijyoji Harmonica Yokocho Asaichi) on 18/Jan this coming Sunday.

Amazing that more than 70 shops will be open in a small narrow alley! Harmonica Yokocho Alley is famous for the night drinking but they open for crafters and shops for morning time before they open own shops! We love this Kichijyoji harmonica people's free mind.

This morning market is located just in front of Kichijyoji station and it's once a month only (every 3rd Sunday of the month). It's fun! So don't miss to come visit to Kichijyoji morning market if you have a chance! And drop us a line if you'll be coming!

最後にテマリシャスの大切な藍を育ててくれている栃木の泉農園からも今回は新鮮な野菜が朝市に登場します。作り手がわかる野菜食べてみてください。

テマリシャスの願いの一つである「手まりで世界の人と繋がる」こと。最近自分たちが実践してきて、日に日に手まりを通して色んな新しい繋がりが出来てきました。

日本と世界のどこかで手まりを愛して作ってくれる方と繋がりたいっ。

子供のときからいろいろな作ることが好きでした。

だから、日本語の勉強しながら、おりがみとあみぐるみと手まりの世界を知りました。

手まりを、偶然インターネットでみつけました。さいしょから「すごくうつくしい！」と思って、すぐにしたくなりました。ヨーロッパのししゅうと同じようですけど、まりに幾何学模様のパターンがおもしろくて、みりょくてきです。

花やほしやアブストラクトものなどができます。色が多いし、モノクロもできるし、モダンな模様もできるし、伝統的な手まりもできます。

何でも作れる、そんなそうさくてきなことが大好きになりました。今はもう２０こぐらい作りました、そして未来にもっとたくさん手まりを作るつもりです。

よくかぞくやともだちにあげます、きれいなプレゼントだと思います。

Since I was small, I liked making various things by hands. 

When I stared studying Japanese, I found Origami, Amigurumi, and Temari on the internet by coincidence. Since the first look, I found Temari very beautiful and I rush to try it.

Although it is similar to European embroidery, geometric patterns of Temari attract me. Flowers, stars, and abstract... It could be colourful or monochrome, modern or traditional. 

I love making creative Temari and I've already finished 20 Temaris and I will make more in near future. It is a very good gift for family and friends.

Enjoyed so much of colours and sounds of stitching! Even though it was challenging, we were very happily surprised to see everyone was managing to finish the project. 

We'll continue to do more workshops in future to share the time with you and whenever you come to Tokyo, please drop a line and let's temari out together!
